As a mom, I’m always on the lookout for great deals. This isn’t always an easy feat when you are chasing kids around. One of the best ways I’ve found to save money is to bring the tools right to my fingertips by downloading a few money saving apps. Since my phone goes almost everywhere with me I’m never without these apps. Here are a few of my favorites.

money saving apps

Gas Buddy- No matter where I am this app always helps me find the best gas prices no matterwhere I am. It also gives me directions to the best gas stations. This is great for when I’m running errands around town.

Groupon and Living Social. I check daily deal sites almost every day to score low prices on everything from restaurants to fun outings for the family. They often have family and kid friendly deals to great local places. I can shop for deals through the app and use it to carry all my coupons with me so I never have to print out my vouchers.
ShopSavvy- If you’ve ever wondered if you are getting the best price for an item, this app will take all that wondering away. Use the camera on your phone to scan the bar code on nearly any item and the app looks up the products from several retailers around the web. You can see what the item is going for other places and even order it from your phone if you find a better price.
Skype- Shopping isn’t the only way to save money. By using the skype app, you can call other Skype users all over the world for free. If you have a long list of people you call frequently, switch them over to Skype and chose a phone plan with fewer minutes to save money.
Browse the app store on your phone for other apps that are particular to you. You will be surprised at what you will find. Take advantage of one of the best tools that you always have with you.
